Target recalls floor lamps after two consumers were shocked

The lamps are dangerous when a one-way bulb is screwed into a three-way socket.

Look at how ugly that lamp is. I hate to say it, but if you paid money for something like that, you deserve to get shocked. It's the universe trying to wake you up.

“The lamp can short when a standard one-way bulb is fully tightened in the lamp’s three-way socket,” The question remains "Is it safe when using a Standard Three-Way Bulb"? I will agree that it should not create electrical shocks under normal use, but it just frustrates me when people do not follow the directions for use of products and then claim they are defective.
