Some of my best childhood memories with my Dad were at Raceway park. Sad to see it go. I really wish it could have held on a few more years so I could have taken my own son - along with his Grandpa to a night at the races.

That's too bad to see a piece of Mn race history fade away ... I was part of the pit crew for one of the Enduro cars back in the 90's ... Great time !!

I fondly remember going several times each summer as a kid, then only occasionally with extended family for several years as a young adult. In the last few years we've been going several times per year again, now with my kids. I'll miss the place now that it's gone. With Cottage-View closing last year and Raceway now that's 8-10 summer evenings in need of alternative family entertainment. Elko and Vali-Hi may pick up some of those dates but it's a shame to lose more options.

So sad to see the last races at Raceway Park! They made it family friendly and affordable. The racers were competitors and friends and on many occasions watched them help each other after running hard against each other. Yes Elko is the closest track now to the cities, but without the crazy figure 8's it just won't be the same!

Sorry puckheads, but the Vikings, especially in their new Tajmahall, could never provide the up close excitement and entertainment that the show at Raceway Park has provided for longer than the Vikings have been in Minnesota. But wait...maybe e-pulltabs could save Raceway Park! Maybe more cigarette tax! And yes, maybe the Governor and Legislature could, gasp...build them a NEW Raceway Park. It could be called...The People's Raceway!!! Eureka!!!

That is very sad. I went there often. Moved to Charlotte last Feb so I guess my timing was good. Plenty of racing here for you all!

My first trip to Raceway was 1967, making the long trek (to me as a 11 year old) from Hopkins across a rickety bridge and two lane road to what seemed a very rural Shakopee.
