Hartman: Peterson is prepared despite light preseason load

  • Article by: SID HARTMAN , Star Tribune

How did Adrian Peterson react to the decision by coach Leslie Frazier to play the great running back in only three plays during the four preseason games, in which the Vikings went 1-3?

" I doubt that the recent concussion problem will change his mind." You really didn't say this did you sid?

"Gardenhire will be back in 2014 for his 13th season" ....so much for Terry Ryan's credibility stating everything [including Gardenhire]would be "discussed" after the season........

On the contrary, I think trading Morneau to the Pirates was the writing on the wall for Mauer to play 1st base in 2014. Do the Twins really want a 23 million dollar per year guaranteed "no trade clause" player to start getting concussion problems with another hit on his catcher's mask? Plus, you have a good catcher line-up next year with Hermann and Doumit behind the plate.

The ONLY difference Peterson can and will make this season for the vikings is that with him the vikings finish 6-10 this season and without him they would finish 4-12. With Ponder at the healm and a horribly over-matched defensive backfield week in and week out coupled with the same stooges coaching from the sidelines nothing is going to keep this club from a definate last place NFC North Division finish in 2013.

One thing about Minnesota sports it brings out all types of soothsayer; they have all the answers. Vikings,Twins and T-wolves corporate, Please take note,if you listen to these guys, you don't have to pay them.

I hope and pray that Sid is talking stupid again when he wrote Gardenhire will be back in 14. And if the Vikes put it all on AP again this year we are going no where again and AP could very well get hurt again. Not trying to poo pa things but not looking to good for the home team. Hope I'm wrong. Go Vikes, and Gophs

@northhi - Like it or not anyone that pays taxes pays for EVERY single professional sports team in the State of Minnesta through tax dollars that outright pay for every single one of the facilities each and every team plays in - Target Field, Metrodome, Excel Center and Target Center. As for the gophers your tax dollars subsidize every sport that is played on the campus of the University of Minnesota. northhi, you should think before you post next time!!!

Sid also said Tubby Smith wouldn't be fired and thank God he was wrong there. If Gardy is back next year this fan base better wake up and stay away from the stadium if the attendance drops to about 5 -10K a game maybe Ebenezer Pohlad will get the message. Enough already of this, build me my stadium and I will put a winning team on the field. Isn't that what we were told Mr. Pohlad?
