WASHINGTON — Short on support at home and allies abroad, President Barack Obama unexpectedly stepped back from a missile attack against Syria on Saturday and instead asked Congress to support a strike punishing Bashar Assad's regime for the alleged use of chemical weapons.

Here we go again! The liberals claim we are not the worlds police and yet they voted a guy into office that thinks we are. Can someone remind him of the prize he was awarded by the Nobel committee.

Sadly we are dumb enough to watch this happen again. Fools, the lot of us.

This is all about our President trying to save face after making his foolish "red line" statement. Let's just hope this doesn't escalate into a wider regional war which would not only be disastrous but totally unnecessary.

Why don't the Syrians deal with this themselves? Who was it that said the people deserve exactly the government they have? I agree with that 100%.

"The liberals claim we are not the worlds police and yet they voted a guy into office that thinks we are." .... if we had a Republican president we would have been involved a whole lot sooner. All you have to do is go back and read the comments from Republican's in Congress urging our involvement in Syria many months ago. Obama's "red line statement" came as a way to back down those Republican's. And why haven't they come back from vacation to start debating this? They don't have to wait for the president to become involved. They are a separate branch of government.

At this point, as someone in DC said not so long ago before she retired. "What differance does it make"?

Why does Obama think he can order a military strike when he can't even salute the service men and women who would carry out his order? Really, why?

I can only hope that this is some sort of "we were really gonna but decided not to THIS TIME" ruse. But then, when you spend as much on the military as the rest of the world combined, somebody must have an itchy trigger finger somewhere.
