To quote Abraham Lincoln, the father of the Republican Party "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration." Too bad he isn't leading the Republican Party today. Happy Labor day all!

Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."-----can't believe I agreed with techno twice this morning. One caveat. People in today's society are flooded with marketing selling neat gadgets and gizmos that are wants, not needs. This creates desires. Desires that are greater than their means. Just because someone wants a neat gizmo does not merit their demand for higher wages/salaries. If there are people working their tails off and still subsisting......more discussion is warranted.

If Unions, are so wonderful why am I forced to join one? Sure, I can decline to join but why must I, a supposed free man living in a free country still be forced by law to pay a, "Fair Share", which happens to be 75% of the regular Union dues? Why does my Union tell me who to vote for each election and why are those people whom I must vote for always liberal Democrats? Why do they take my money without my consent and give it to candidates that I consider bad our country and bad for a free Republic? Why have my Union Reps not returned my calls? Why do all the Union conferences have to be held in expensive locations? How come they don't ever invite a dues paying member for almost a 1/4 of a century like me to their conferences? Are they afraid of something?
