Facilities such as this should always be under high scrutiny... always. No public or private facility will run well with out it human nature being what it is. Is it once again budget cuts that have put us in this awful situation? Too much responsibility on overworked employees and just not enough staff? Gee, what a shock. Same thing is happening in our schools.....

It would be interesting to see how an independent external evaluation of the situation at MSH would view the alleged "improvements" in patient care that Commissioner Jesson claims have occurred. Allowing DHS Licensure to serve as judge and jury over the agency's own operations is not independent oversight. Only a fool believes the fox's statements regarding the safety and security of the hen house!

I wonder if the star tribune intends to interview anyone at the hospital or comment on any attempts to do so. This story does not tell us anything.

These are horrifying "incidents". I can't believe there is no individual disciplinary action being taken. Staff who let this occur should be fired.

"The troubled Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter has been fined $2,000..." ------- Where does that money come from and where does it go? If the hospital is under control of the DHS aren't they just fining themselves?
