First I wish to thank all those citizens for supporting the Veterans that Served in Vietnam and all the other conflicts before and after, Thank You All !! I landed in Vietnam July 7th 1965 our Company of Marines made several beach landings we spent about a year in Vietnam, I never expected a ticker tape parade, but I never expected to be to be treated like a criminal when I came home. I marched in the Parade today, I'm glad I did I saw thousands of smiling faces and "Thank You's " cheering and clapping

I am a veteran of the Lost War of Vietnam. I would like the Governor to know I am not a hero and never was one. I was a scared kid from Chatfield, Minnesota who bought the company line and have wasted my adult life from the experience of that dumb war. God Bless all those veterans who still think it was a just cause.

About a year ago I bought a hat stating I am a veteran of the Vietnam war. In the past year I have received more acknowledgements than I received in the past 45 years! I sincerely thank those who take a moment to thank us!! Better late than never!! I salute all veterans and those who are currently serving!!

The part that I hated coming back from the Vietnam era (I served overseas but not Vietnam) is how the college kids were trained to hate the military after Vietnam. Going to classes took everything I had to keep calm and I carried that with me for my entire life.

Sorry, but after 10 years of dogs and Marines keep off the grass and 30 years of anonymity, it's just too late. I'm respected more in VN than I ever was in the US.

I'll always remember that...

Vietnam vets - thank you for your service! My brother was in Vietnam and he was treated like dirt when he came back. It is a stain on our country's history that men forced to go to fight were so disrepected when they returned. Keep in mind that many people hated the war, but many did NOT hate the soldiers. May God bless them! I
