Operator of Japan's crippled nuclear plant cites seam problem as possible cause of tank leak

TOKYO — The operator of Japan's crippled nuclear plant said Saturday that deteriorated seams and a possible contortion of a reassembled storage tank might have caused a massive contaminated water leak that has triggered fears over the plant's radioactive water management.

FWIW, a 300 ton water leak is equal to about 80,000 gallons of water. Reminds me of a joke: what do you get when you add 8 cups of sewage to a 55 gallon drum of fresh water? 55 and one half gallons of sewage.

The Japanese have got to stop acting Japanese and ask for help, when needed. I get that they feel it's an internal affair, and the Japanese are proud people who feel they should take care of it themselves, but when it comes to radiation and radioactive water seepage into the ground water and ocean, it affects all of us, not just them.

Anybody else noticed the corporate media blackout regarding Fukashima? There are three freakin meltdowns at this facility. The water leaking from this tank would kill you within 1 minute with the gamma rays scrambled your cells. This is and has been a huge story. And the situation is not getting any better. It's good that they are finally asking for international help. The media needs to assert it's independence from the corporate masters and keep us all aware and alert to what is happening.
