CINCINNATI — Ryan Braun's acknowledgement that he used performance-enhancing drugs was welcomed in the Milwaukee Brewers' clubhouse, where players hope it helps to heal some of the pain caused by his actions and a resulting 65-game suspension.

So Braun is going to serve his suspension for a team that is 20 games out of first place, thereby improving their position in next year's draft by about 5 spots. He loses around $3 million on his immense contract. Overall, the "penalty" is a joke.

Would it be more of a deterrent if teams/teammates let it be known that saying sorry is weak and the apology is not accepted and users will not be welcomed back into the dugout? Think about the other players who didn't abuse, thus did not make the Show.... Or, is the abuse so prevelant that is why players are so quick to forgive? It bothers me so much to listen to,"he made a mistake. He's a fine young man." A mistake is throwing to the wrong base, not putting banned substances willingly into your body...I say treat them as outcasts and bean them repeatedly
