The US really needs to take a look at our presence and relationships with all nations in the middle east. It seems that this administration's policies and tactics aren't working very well.

This is such a delicate and awkward situation. 1) We don't know who the good guys are. Sure McCain wants to help the rebels, but which faction? Siding with the "wrong" side could prove disasterous. 2) The Russians and Chinese will evitably side with Assad. Any intervention could easily turn this into a world war. I do wish Obama had never made the "red line" comment though as it commits us to taking action. But I'd like to know where the Saudi's and Jordanians are on this.

To paraphrase today's Wall Street Journal editorial, Dean Obama has put Syria on double-secret probation. Assad is shaking in his boots no doubt.

Obama is right to proceed very cautiously.

We have not been able to pull any sort of a coalition together to pressure Assad. Does Russia really have that much more influence in this mater than the US? Granted even the Arab world is split on this, but I find it hard to believe that we can't get anyone behind putting more pressure on Assad.

"Sometimes what we've seen is that folks will call for immediate action, jumping into stuff, that does not turn out well," OK. So on guns... ACT NOW!!! jump in, we need immediate action. Somehow that's different...

The Syrian chemical weapons attack should be of NO concern for America!
