Thank you Rick Spielman. Is this a surprise. Spielman has a history of ignoring very basic needs. Instead, he will use a high draft pick for a running back while ignoring teams most obvious needs. At least after this year once Ponder proves that he is not a starting QB, we may see the end of Spielman. This team still has a ton of holes and the GM is directly responsible.

Ton of holes? What are you talking about? Having great Special Teams play shows how deep we are. A lot of great draft picks by Rick, and he's not going anywhere.

RealVikeAug. 23, 13 9:29 AM

Dirtydog, I'm curious as to what holes you're referring to. Have you not watched the last 2 drafts? Spielman has been masterful. He's improved the depth at almost every position in a very short time. The article states concern because of injuries - injuries hurt every team's depth! If Bishop and Henderson stay healthy we'll be fine at LB. I'd like to see who you would bring in as a better GM. Geez, you just can't please some people.

Actually, the linebacker depth is pretty skinny. Rick is counting on a healthy Bishop, which is a risk. I hope Bishop has a productive year.

Hey let's keep this in perspective. We don't know how well this last draft really was yet, but I believe it was great. Last years rookie class was very good. However, there really is NO EXCUSE for a team with this much talent and potential to have MARGINAL TALENTS like Ponder and Henderson starting at the 2 most important positions in football! Please let Audie Cole and Matt Cassel have the jobs that they deserve. More than that the other 51 guys shouldn't have their chances at being a real playoff threat taken from them before the season starts. How are Jennings and Patterson supposed to live up to the high expectations put on them with noodle arm throwing the ball?

callsaulAug. 23, 1310:59 AM

Henderson is so bad it's like having no MLB at all. Anyone who looks at the situation objectively can see that. He's freaking terrible!

RealVikeAug. 23, 13 1:55 PM

I will admit that Henderson and Ponder have some proving to do this year, but I'm staying confident. I don't think either are "freaking terrible." And I truly believe Ponder can be a better than average QB. It's difficult to address every single position with 1st round talent in one year. All the speculation will soon be answered. And if they don't pan out, those 2 positions will be the priority for next year. Anyone else looking forward to Mauti next year and what he might be able to do?

All these injuries in freaking training camp/preseason!!! Percy Harvin hurt yet? How about John Carlson? And I don't think LB Bishop will make the team .... can't stay on the field.

I been watching the Vikings since 1967!!this team they have right now for 2013,could end up being one of the worst teams they have ever had!!!!!1.a bust at q.b. pass rush secondary?who to blame start where you should start with the owners.spielman&fraizer need to go aftr this season is over which will come fast!!!!and take that joke of a scouting dept. with them!!!wilfs need to go out and get smart smart smart football people!!first a tough nse smart g.m. if you have to go into big time college ranks to get a real coach that after years has beyond proved himself,isLES MILES OF LSU!!!!hes born in Michigan I know without betting as far as betting my life,he would totally turn this team into what carrol has at seattle and in one year jim harbaugh has done with the 49s!!!!!wilfs went cheap and that's exactly what they got a n nfl sub-par team going and never will go no where.i blame the owners!!!!!!!
