Cautious shoppers? Ummm, higher taxes, lower wages, lower hours, higher insurance costs, higher gas prices, higher food prices. Shoppers have no money only credit.

When has Target been affordable? Not in a very long time. They keep touting their designer this, and designer that. Good luck with that. Even I don't shop there anymore. Never at Walmart, so I am not spending money. Good for me.

Target needs to face its karma. Most folks are very tired of all of the cheap goods in Target -- made with near slave labor in places such as China. It hardly feels good to buy something knowing that its production has involved suffering for others.

I love these economy excuse articles, i never realized how tiring 8 years of them would be. Its not the economy, higher taxes, Obamacare or lower job creation its cautious shoppers or hurricane Sandy or the drought or the late spring.

True - real wages are stagnant or dropping, budgets are stretched tight, prices keep climbing and work demands are nearly unsustainable. For most of us, not much difference from 2006-2007. Yet GDP is up, stock and investment dividends are rising, and luxury goods are selling. Somebody out there is much better off.

Target or Walmart. Tough choice. How is Walmart sales? Up? Hmm.

Obamacare hitting home. This is only the beginning as taxes will skyrocket and the medical profession gets it's blank check.

real wages have been stagnat for years, many new jobs are part time and many Americans just can't affort to load up the SUV every week. I am very upset that the US Federal government has continued to flood the US Labor market during these hard times. Our representatives are so out of touch that the US Senate recently passed the a new immigration bill to accelerate the rate of flooding the US Labor market.

I used to love shopping Target for their great and well-priced decorator items. However, lately I've noticed that their prices are far higher than other discount stores who specialize in designer home items. Fortunately I don't "drop" as much money at Target as I once did. Good for me, bad for Target!!
