I am ready for some Gopher Football. Can't stand the NFL. Go Gophers. Kill has the air on the Gophers going in a positive direction.

Another nice story about an athlete who appears to appreciate the opportunities to play D-I football as well as to receive an education from a top notch university. So refreshing to read as opposed to yet another story about an immature but skilled athlete who cannot follow the team rules like everyone else without having his hand held while trying to do so. Note: I could absolutely care less about an athlete's background, either he/she is mature enough to appreciate and understand what it means to be a D-I athlete or they do not. If they still are dwelling on the glories of having been a star athlete at the high school level but are too immature to move on to compete with others, many of whom had also been stars at the high school level, they should not be wasting the scholarship dollars and coaching efforts of a D-I school. If they essentially cannot move beyond the glory of their high school days, the U of M should not waste time and resources on them, no matter what their background.

I would add that I usually expect Sid Hartman to do the family biography work, but I'll watch what kind of weight Maxx has added. Going from 225 to 250+ is not unexpected because he didn't have a great 40 time, so I suppose he was told to put on weight. Let's hope he doesn't end up as the Big 10 biggest tight end. Let me echo the sentiment that I am ready for the Gopher season to start. I am tired of the NFL stories about murder, injuries, and lawsuits involving one or the other.
