First off, we aren't a democracy. If we were, we wouldn't have Obamacare. Second, Minneapolis is going to get what it deserves through the fiasco known as "ranked choice voting".

The reason all this nefarious name business works is because what we like to believe we have (a democracy powered by an educated electorate, smart voters who know the candidates and study the issues before heading into the voting booth) is not, in fact what we do have (an idiocy powered by an uneducated electorate, voters who know only the candidates names --if that --before heading into the voting booth). The voters can complain all they want to about being victimized, but their own stupidity victimizes them. Until and unless voters take the responsibility to get their heads out of their tail feathers it will always be thus!
