Jack Germond, political columnist, TV pundit and one of famed 'Boys on the Bus,' dead at 85

WASHINGTON — Jack W. Germond, the portly, cantankerous columnist and pundit who covered 10 presidential elections and sparred with colleagues on TV's "The McLaughlin Group," has died. He was 85.

Thank you, Mr. Germond, for standing up to the endless barrage of right-wing baloney. Thank you also for having the guts to question the Reagan admin when most reporters were all too willing to kiss up to the Reagan/Deaver propaganda machine, and Georgie Will became Nancy Reagan’s lap dog.
