Tevlin: Harteau's not the first chief to deal with misconduct

After a series of racial incidents involving Minneapolis police officers, an exasperated chief said to a Star Tribune reporter: “I have a hard time fixing on what prompted so much crazy behavior by so many officers in such a short period of time.”

can we identify the issue here...? the reason why multiple police chiefs fight this problem and cant over come it is because of the police union. Too hard to fire or discipline with a union in the way. simple.

Thanks Jon Tevling for seeking out John Laux and not the highly over-quoted Tony Bouza for this article. John Laux is a good and moral man - and he was a better police chief than most believe,

Perhaps hiring a " chief of police" whose only qualification was not being a man just MIGHT have been a bad idea?
