How can you fire someone and then say "it's no reflection on her work...." It sounds like she got fired because she caught the police chief's illegal activities.

I grew up in Dayton and still have family out there. There have been rumors for a number of years about some considerable dysfunction and improprieties with city officials and now it has finally surfaced and brought a very unprofessional light on things going on there. Yup, Dayton is a pretty backward community in terms of how city government functions.

Our Police Chief may have problems, one being rather arrogant, but Orduno was no charm either. We have a very expensive sewer system in this City and 50% of the people can't afford to hook up. Orduno should have been fired in 2008 when she was promoting an unlicensed/state censored Sewer Contractor for Sewer work. I brought the Contractor's State record to City Hall and was promptly dismissed.

Regarding elle2008's comments, the citizens of Dayton were financially 'raped' over this crazy expensive citywide sewer system. To this day, I still know of neighbors where my parents live who have not hooked up and are still using their septic systems and wells. The estimates for this project changed three separate times, each time rising higher, before the first hole was dug.

The sewer and water project was poorly timed and thought to encourage development. All that developed were 5-6 lots for a developer that was born and raised in town. Seems fishy to me. That developer made money while all the residents got hit with massive assessments and permitting costs to connect to the system.
