This team will be scary good once Bob Griese gets the play book down pat. With new signees Otis Sistrunk, Jim "Catfish" Stevens and J.J. Bullock, what is not to like about this year's squad? I am also very high on free agent find C-3PO, which added to an already impressive roster should allow the Vikings to host one of the more formidable special team units in the NFC Central. With the Packers losing Gary "US" Bonds and Merril Stubing to free agency and Bob Avellini finally hanging up the cleats in Chi-town, you got to like the Vikings a lot this season.

Obviously hard to project how this team will do so early in the season--BUT, the methodical approach of indoctrinating the rookies--teaching them as they develop, resting the marquee players, upgrading special teams, making sure the little things--like proper technique, handling the ball, finishing plays, avoiding penalties-- are all taken care of, so they don't become big problems later... Seems to me like they're taking the proactive tack. Can't ask more than that

Ponder would not be the starter on a good college team. Yet here he is starting for the NFL Viking's. 'nuff said.

I think Ponder actually could start for a college team. Maybe even a good one. Trouble is: the NFL is not college.

Ponder would be 2nd string on a good high school football team.
