A website collecting data from 20 area communities could help drive decisions on improving quality of life.

It would be interesting to look at some other metrics, too - perhaps households in Woodbury include more children, upping water usage for laundry, or maybe there are more lawn irrigation systems per household. Lake Elmo, with its low-density large lot development, is a place where residents must drive for everything they need. I wonder what accounts for Oakdale's waste production! Anyway, numbers are the first step - next comes the "why".
