MANKATO – The chances for DeMarcus Love to make the Vikings’ 53-man roster might have gone out the window Thursday when the NFL hit the third-year offensive tackle with a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance enhancing substance policy.

I hope Love has a degree or something to fall back on because he's NFL career is over before it started.

Just a couple of days ago, when discussing the Yankees and Alex Rodriguez, folks on these pages were calling for severe team punishments (forfeit games, count the salary of suspended players against the cap, etc.) as a way to curb PED use. I'm wondering if the same applies to NFL teams like the Vikings?

It sure gets tiresome when almost all of the players say they are "shocked" when they found out their "supplements" contained PEDs. Yeah right. With so much to lose, then why don't all these "honest" players let the league test their supplements for PEDs prior to ingesting it?

dave of mn: that is an excellent point. Very interesting that the Vikes would give 1st team reps to Cole, in Henderson's down time. Maybe the coaches see something in this kid. Maybe he just is more familure with the defensive plays, than the other 2 MLB's. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
