Court: State-created insurer must make records public

A state-created insurance fund that covers high-risk doctors, hospitals, bars and other service providers must make its records public, a Ramsey County district judge ruled Thursday.

The state requires care providers to carry insurance. The state cannot mandate insurance unless they can guarantee that insurance will be available. The purpose of the MJUA is to fulfil that guarantee. A similar fund exists for auto insurance. Your insurer can use it and they don't even have to tell you.
