Vikings linebacker Bishop shows no lingering injury effects

MANKATO – Desmond Bishop hasn’t overtaken Marvin Mitchell in the Vikings’ competition at weak-side linebacker, but the former Packer is moving as well as he said he would when he reported to camp a week ago.

In the final analysis and with the injury behind him, Bishop is easily the best linebacker at any position on this team - including Greenway. To even compare Henderson or Mitchell to Bishop is ridiculous.

These new "bag" rules are pathetic. What the heck is the NFL thinking, is it run by liability lawyers now? Sure, we want to prevent terrorist attacks, but not by turning this country into a police state populated by sheep. Good grief people, wake up before you become a mutton dinner! The security paranoids are becoming a serious threat to our ability to live a normal life without all these bizarre restrictions. Next: "Papers please!!"

I hope Desmond learns quickly. We saw Erin blow Nickel coverage's last year. So even if its something Desmond isn't super talented at, it has to be better than that.

kfanvike- you must be crazy. Greenway is head and shoulders better than any LB on this team. Bishop should eventually replace Mitchell on the depth chart, but he's not on the same level as Chad the tackling machine Greenway. Sorry.

Of course Percy's "in good spirits". He's still getting his paycheck and the effect on the Seahawks is of no concern to him.

I hope Bishop has a good year, except against the Pack. He was our best linebacker, and a good man.

How many more days, till Greg Childs is cut? Any word from Camp on our 25 Million Dollar TE, Carlson?

There's no real contact or hitting going on maybe it's better to wait until the real bullets start to fly then evaluate him.
