TRENTON, N.J. — An operator of TGI Fridays restaurants in New Jersey has agreed to pay a $500,000 fine for serving customers cheap booze when they paid for top shelf.

The story said the fine included "$100,000 to cover investigative costs". Makes one wonder what the investigation consisted of. All I can picture is a bunch of detectives sipping cheap booze for nights on end - but first good booze from a reputable bar - and then run over to a TGIF to compare the their top shelf booze. $100,000? Seems like a lot of investigative costs. Tough job but somebody had to do it - lol.

Rubbing alcohol and caramel coloring passed off as good scotch? Pretty much enforces what I always thought about scotch.....tastes like rubbing alcohol!
