Rugaber, You have no idea what you write. You constantly contradict yourself.--------------------------------------------------US economic growth likely weakened in April-June quarter but should strengthen later this year Article by: CHRISTOPHER S. RUGABER , AP Economics Writer Updated: July 31, 2013 - 5:35 AM WASHINGTON — A report Wednesday is expected to show the U.S. economy barely grew from April through June. But economists are hopeful that the weak second quarter is a temporary lull that gives way to stronger growth in the second half of the year. ----------

The economy expanded 8.2 percent from June 2009 through the end of last year, up from 7.6 percent, but still the weakest recovery since World War II-----------------I guess this is what you get when you elect Obama, The slowest recovery in recent history. And, they didn't mention, Obama has the lowest GDP growth of any president. Why anyone idolizes this guy is beyond comprehension!

"I guess this is what you get when you elect Obama, The slowest recovery in recent history" Well, it seems to be surprising only to those of you who get their talking points from talk radio. The rest of us are aware of the fact that our country just went thru the largest economic downturn since the Great Depression. And how long did it take our country to recover from that, joe? Further, where was the Dow when Obama took office, and where is it now? I'll admit there are still challenges facing our recovery, but we are in far, far better shape than now economically than we were in 2008. And the numbers bear this out. Cherry pick all the negative stats you can find , joe, it still all adds up to forward progress, like it or not.

avejoecon, that's amusing considering that the GOP claimed that the stimulus would result in no economic recovery and that our nation would be worse off than it was before it was implemented. Now you have to backtrack and admit that we are having a recovery. Isn't it the least bit eye opening that EU is just now getting out of their recession even though they implemented the strategy the Republicans recommended and continue to recommend, which was to cut spending? If you want to make the argument that this is the slowest recovery ever, then at least have the decency to point the blame where it belongs and that is at the GOPs instistence that spending must be cut even though it directly results in even more lost jobs. If it was not for the economic plan proposed and implemented by President Obama, then we wouldn't have had any sort of recovery let alone a slow one.

flatstanley---------Sorry, but it is NOT the fault of the GOP that the democrats are passing all the economy busting bills. As for all those cuts in EU, it's because they HAVE TO because they are in a situation where that is their only choice. Just like we will be in in about 10 years. As for the cuts hurting the economy, try again. The only cuts that have gone thru are in THIS year's budget. Obama has been in officd 4.5 years. As for that stimulus, It was a complete failrure. t was a wasted 800 Billion that did nothing. The Unemployment continued to grow and the economy failed for neartly 2 years after the stimulus. THAT is a failure. It was only after the 2010 election when the republicans gained the house and stopped the ridiculous bills that the Dems were passing that the economy finally started to come around.

EVERY economist knows that the deeper the recession, the more robust the recovery, UNTIL obama.
