Hartman: Vikings' Kalil now knows what to expect

  • Article by: SID HARTMAN , Star Tribune

W hen the Vikings drafted Matt Kalil in the first round as the fourth overall selection in the 2012 draft, they had to hope they would duplicate the success the team found when they drafted another USC offensive tackle with the first overall pick in 1968, Ron Yary. Yary was the first offensive lineman to be drafted first overall in NFL history and proved to be a worthy investment. He made his first Pro Bowl and was named first-team All-Pro in 1971.

My sources tell me that the Vikings are going to be one of the top teams in the NFL, and should have no problem advancing to and winning the Super Bowl.

Kalil is a good player and will be for quite some time, like all the other good / great viking's players it is too bad they eventually have to leave the viking organization to win a Super Bowl / World Championship during their career. Just ask Matt Birk and or Bryant McKinnie.

Paul Allen from Kfan also said that the vikings have the best salad bar in the NFL.

Nice to have a a left tackle that will play at a high level for another 15 years. If Ponder does not do well look for the Vikings to draft or trade for a QB.
