Miguel Sano’s timing was bad when he admired a recent homer. The Twins’ general manager was in the stands.

How dare Sano have swagger or hit home runs! Neither is allowed in Twins Territory!

Benching the kid 3 games for watching his home run is a little ridiculous, unless it was a persistent issue. But these are your Twins.

I read somewhere else that the offense was only partially that he showboated. The other mistake was that when the manager took him aside to talk about it, he blew off the manager. IN any case, most teammates don't want to see showboating, especially the next batter. Surefire way for someone to get plunked in the ribs. Hopefully it's his last time.

Pedro Grifol? "The fans" here would have a fit about that. Trading a career minor leaguer as hitting coach instead of a HOFer?

Ryan should be benched permanently for the pitching staff he puts together every year.

My goodness this article made me sick. No matter what angle you want to look at this from this it is now FOUR GAMES. Maybe the Twins could have handled the situation better? At this point the Twins are the ones "showboating" in my opinion

Once again LeVelle says Arcia was benched for "not hustling" and that is just flat out wrong. I watched the game in question. Arcia played two innings and was pulled. I saw it TWICE in fact. Yet LeVelle initially reported that he didn't run out a grounder when he in fact struck out in his only at bat. Apart from that he fielded a fly ball in the second inning and was taken out of the game while the Red Wings were batting. There was no evidence of non hustle. I went through the video with a fine tooth comb as I am a subscriber to milb.com. The REAL issue was "insubordination" and that was reported by Jim Mandelaro who covers the Red Wings for the Rochester Democrat. Reusse also said the same thing in his column the other day, citing Mandelaro. Interestingly enough, when Arcia was pulled from the game that day LeVelle tweeted it was because he was probably being promoted. This came just after news of Mauer taking leave. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Arcia's "insubordination" stemmed from his reaction to not being called back up. Afterall, it's much easier to tell people he didn't run out a grounder and bury it in a story about the Mauer twins than to say he was angry about not being called up. As it was, enough people were questioning why Butera was called up because we had two catchers already. What the heck is going on with the Twins and the people covering this team? Honestly.

If Ryan was in the stands and by all accounts had an exchange with Sano how come he hasn't been asked to comment on what happened? If he was at least mention that he declined to make a comment.

4 games??? Get real, one game would have been plenty, don't ruin this kid's confidence and swagger for crying out loud!
