Minnetonka teens doggedly pursue pet lost in BWCA

Five Minnetonka High runners chased down the pooch named Tomah and got her back to her grateful owners.

So happy for Tomah and her family. Great job guys! My son used to run CC in high school. Those runners are a great group of kids!

Wounderful story, and I give the boys credit, and it`s nice things turned out like they did. However, bringing pets into the BWCA is as foolish as it gets. Nobody follows the rules about them being leashed ALL THE TIME. They run loose on portages [where legally they can be shot if showing aggression as they come around a bend unleashed towards another person they don`t know. The poop is incredable, and the barking can be heard for miles across the waterways. This, no to even mention loose dogs and [yes it`s true] cats are in cougar and wolf country. They should remain at home where they belong. The excuse of "my dog would never"..... Is pure wishful thinking.
