if he's not happy with $48M over 4 years, sign him for one year & let him go unrestricted or try to trade him. Seems like we're bidding against ourselves at this point. Let someone else blow their cap space on him. He's always got some minor injury that keeps him out & he's benefitted from a pass first point guard. I know this isn't my money, but it's just an opinion.

JP: I agree!!!! What's taking him so long??? This is utterly ridiculous, NO ONE else is even bidding for him... If he thinks he's worth more than 12 million, he will find out the hard way (next year), he probably wouldn't bring even $9-10 million on open market.... I say save the money to resign Rubio... Centers are overrated in the NBA!!!!

We don't need to save money to resign Rubio...we can go over the cap to sign our own free agents. Teams didn't offer him anything because they knew the Wolves would match.

Although I like Pek and he fits perfectly into the Wolves offense with Rubio, he is more of a product of a system then anything else. reminds me of Dean Garret when he had that good year because Marbury was giving him dunks all night. then he signed a big contract with Denver and was never any good again. Pek should be signed for more like 8mil at most. Other teams see he isn't worth more which is why he didn't get any real interest this year.

Pek didn't get any interest because he isn't worth big numbers ? Absurd. They knew he was going to be a Wolf next season whether he played for the qualifying offer or signed an extension. The teams with cap room didn't have center as a position of need.

I'll give odds that Love returns from the USA team with an injury that keeps him from starting the NBA season. The guy is on an injury prone hot streak and my advide to him, skip it and try playing in the NBA for a year.

Pek is not holding up this process, it's his agent trying to get him the best deal possible. That's how the money-ball spins in Pro Sports kids.

Willy - You do realize Love was committing to the 2014 Worlds aka NEXT SUMMER ?

rbdubbs2121Jul. 26, 1311:42 AM

1) Pek is not the product of a system. He's one of the few centers left in the NBA with a good post game. 2) Good centers are extremely valuable in the NBA because there aren't very many of them anymore. I'm sure they'll get a deal done under 50 and that's about what he's worth. I mean, Tiago Splitter just got 9-10 mill-a-year and he's garbage compared to Pek.
