Supervalu appoints new chief financial officer

The supermarket giant revealed it paid its departing finance chief $300,000 to stay two more months.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how in the world does Supervalu's executive team expect to accomplish anything by paying it's departing executives more, and even more, money? Grocery prices at Supervalu's stores remain well above those at competitors. I think that shoppers are fleeing Supervalu's stores because they are sick, and tired, of paying higher grocery prices that probably go towards "Lining The Pockets" of these wealthy departing executives. No wonder that Supervalu always seems to be losing both Sales and Money.
