Hit a home run; rob a home run—the Torii Hunter cycle!

Was a great game to watch. I was pretty worried there for Perk after that RIDICULOUS call by the ump on Trout. Perfect pitch. Gave him one back on Pujols and he blew by Kendrick or whoever. Great stuff. Let's turn this season into something okay while our talent in the minors gets better.

Love Morneau but I honestly wonder what he is going to demand. If he keeps playing like this he will be lucky to take home 8m a year. Will probably want something like 10m-12m across 4 years. Doubt he will get it.

So for all the Gardy haters...who would you want to see leading the Twins in 2014.....Gardy or Scioscia? From what I just witnessed, Gardy out-managed Scioscia tonight in a brutal, hand-to-hand MLB game? I'll shut up and listen......

BallFourJul. 23, 13 2:26 AM

Listen for what? "The fans" know nothing about managing beyond if a starter is kept in and yields runs he should have been taken out, and if he's taken out and a reliever allows runs the starter should have stayed in.

Leave it to Doumit to butcher a single into a triple. He's a catcher, not an outfielder. Anything other than a routine fly ball becomes an adventure with him out there. Gotta hand it to Gardy for bringing Perk in in the 8th inning. Very unGardy like. That's the only way for him to win. Do the opposite of what he would normally do.

Doumit in the outfield. Not a great move, but who else could Gardenhire put out there. The roster is weak and populated with players that have major flaws in their skill set. Deduno is the only Twin starter who could start for another team. The aforementioned are the are why the owners must be held accountable. You can say they don't know how to run a baseball team. I dont know if that is true because it's obvious they are making a lot of money with a full stadium and inflated prices for 3.2 beer and everything else. The only way to get their attention is to hit them in the pocket book. Just stay away. Im one who used o go to 10-15 games. No mas!

I think Gardenhire was feeling the effects of his fever when he summoned Perkins. in this day and age in baseball, with such specialized roles in the bullpen, that was ahold move. And it looked like it may backfire. I loved the move. I hope to see more of it. Stretch these guys out a bit. Obviously the starters aren't going to go more than 5 and some change every night.

Why is it if someone disagrees with how Gardenhire runs his club or some of the moves he's made they're automatically labeled a "Gardy Hater," or, ridiculed as the "fans" ? On a scale of 1-10 most folks that follow baseball regularly are probably somewhere between 7-8, and ones that perhaps have played the game for a number of years a little better. Managing isn't rocket science, it's more feel than anything else. Folks have the same right to question Gardenhire as the one's defending them...the difference I've noticed is they don't constantly ridicule others. BallFour- if you think people are so ignorant...go comment somewhere else, that's your right.

Watch out American League... as of having one Jamie Carroll was not good enough, now we've got two...
