Analysts said that Samsung is able to produce only three usable screens out of every 10 that are manufactured - - - when automotive fuel injectors were first made the reject rate was sky-high too. Bet on ingenuity to solve a problem that has never been solved before.

The fact that some screens are usable and some aren't means that there is a spectrum of how good the screens are...including within the ones deemed "usable". If some are better than others how do they justify charging the same price for all of them?

Might be nice to get some background on the technology - like invented in Princeton NJ, like the film is applied to the glass with bubblejet printer heads, like its taken scientists 13 years to get the color blue to work properly.

I don't know if these new displays solve some of the problems of OLED compared to LCD but generally OLED was still considered inferior to an IPS LCD display. The colors are not accurate and the lifespan is much shorter then an LCD.

teddyg > That would require actual reporting. This is just passing the buck of what LG wants us to know. Marykate1 > With the image quality of this screen, the "reality" shows should now be much closer to actual reality !

What a waste of money! I can think of several other much more worthwhile ways to spend $15K.

I'd be more impressed if they could get their new Samsung display to work.
