New DNA findings support popular belief about breed's ancient origins

“Carolina dogs” could be the descendants of wolves and have been around since the last ice age.

It appears that Carolina Dogs are similar in many ways to Siberian Huskies (looks, personality and habits - digging holes). The Husky originated in north-eastern Siberia and is considered an ancient breed (direct descendent from wolves). I don't know about Carolina dogs, but Huskies can be outstanding family pets if treated with love and respect and given lots of attention (they tend to reciprocate feelings from their masters).
