Another slow-play penalty at a major, this time for Hideki Matsuyama

GULLANE, Scotland — Hideki Matsuyama became the second player this year to get a one-shot penalty for the slow play in a major.

The R & A and USGA are paying lip service to speeding up play. Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood were more than a hole behind the group in front of them. One or both of them should have been penalized for the delay. Same for the final group which got to the 18th tee as Woods and Westwood were putting out. Poor move to penalize an unknown youngster and not the veterans that all should know better.
