I am sorry to hear of her death. She was one tough lady.

St. Peter had better be on his best behavior. She will put him in his place.

Contrast the kind of tough questions Obama gets from the press: "Mr. president, did you catch any of Giants-Redskins game last night?"

The only thing "pioneering" about Helen Thomas- she was a partisan democrat masquerading as a journalist.

i did not care for her politics much but i really like spicy characters and so i gave her a break. I loved it when Reagan would give her the nod and listen to her question for him with that wry smile on his face that said 'can you believe this' lol

"Journalist"? She was a crusty old partisan hack whose Beltway influence was greatly disproportional to her abilities. Shame on any politician for fearing her.

She is from an era when we were not all required to agree with each other and we could respectfully acknowledge that we had different opinions...her own career ended at the cost of having to think like everyone else. Being open minded means being able to tolerate ideas different than your own. I did not agree with her on much but admired her just the same...guess that makes me old school and much more tolerant than most "Liberals" today.

Blessings to a great American and woman. "...The Bush administration marginalized her, clearly peeved with a journalist who had challenged President George W. Bush to his face on the Iraq war and declared him the worst president in history..."---- Well, he is certainly in the running. Bravo, Ms Chuzpa!

DENTESTER- regardless of your venom- Helen Thomas WAS a PIONEER. You have no idea how alone she was out there-and the courage it took to hang in there. Her politics are irrelevant.
