But even if hot prospects Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano can play in the majors, the Twins need more help than them.

agreed. great prospects but we also need pitching to develop on the same schedule. seems like high end pitchers we've drafted have went unsigned - lets hope this has changed.

This franchise basically received nothing in return for players such as Santana, Hunter, Cuddyer, Kubel, Hardy, Crain, Nathan. Remember all of the promise we heard about their young pitching prospects like Matt Garza, Scott Baker, Kevin Slowey and Nick Blackburn? We trade Jason Bartlett and Matt Garza away for two players who aren't even on the team anymore. We give Hardy to the Orioles. We trade Francisco Liriano...Enough said. These moves have set the Minnesota Twins franchise back and as Scoggins said even if Buxton and Sano succeed in the ML's the Twins need a lot more if they want to return to their winning ways.

The Pohlads are the richest and cheapest owners in all of Baseball. It starts with them...The Twins losing is a reflection on them, therefore the Pohlads are losers. very rich losers.

Hrbek must read the second-guesser's comments here: “If they bring a kid up and he does well, it’s, ‘Why didn’t you bring him up before?’ And if he does bad, it’s, ‘You brought him up too soon.’" Hilarious.

No reason to rush them to the majors until we have advanced to the level of having a mediocre, average pitching staff. We don't have that now. No reason to let these guys get beat up and become cynical because they know their pitching staff is full of BP pitchers.

Keep Morneau & call up Sano and Buxton ASAP -- put Hicks in Right Field and just roll with it...

Until the owners become more concerned with winning than with making a profit off the team, nothing will change. First, the Pohlads need to cough up the bucks for 2-3 quality starting pitchers (like some of the ones they traded away or lost). Second, a power slugger like Ortiz or Fielder (ditto). Then we might have a playoff team. Don't blame Gardy, he doesn't control who plays for him, only how they play.

With owners, I believe there are those who have teams as a hobby. Some spend money because they want the best team. Others, probably not as wealthy are more business oriented. In a way, it is like golf. Players with equal skills might spend diverse amounts of money on their clubs. In the realm of team ownership, I don't believe the Pohlads are particularly wealthy, and the family, having earned their wealth, is reluctant to spend as freely as some others.

The headline screams the Twins's tired refrain..."might"..."someday"... Haven't they been singing that tired song for years?
