I don't know the answer myself just thinking out loud. I too am environmentally concerned about the pielines but am willing to stand back and balance alternatives to minimize risk, minimize cost and maximize quality of life. So I have to ask myself would it be better to have more trains and tanker trucks ripping through american towns or a pipeline?

How many of these crybaby tree huggers got to that gathering via bus, car, pickup, or SUV? They all want their gasoline, electricity, natural gas, and phone service, but they don't want the supprting infrastructure ANYWHERE near them. Makes 'em more special than everyone else.

Funny how the enviromental lobby is opposed to any energy initiative that is based in positive economics and minimal subsidies which exist as accelerated depreciation allowance versus the "nirvana" of non economic grossly tax payer subsidized green energy. Even more interesting is how the whole carbon cliamte change thing has been debunked with the Hockey Stick chart master admitting the study was fabricated to keep grant money flowing. Its called a "Ponzi" scheme with a whole host of climate change believers waiting to feed at the government subsidy trough.

How many of the protesters travelled to the meeting without consuming the oil they want to keep, "in the ground"?

The so-called environmentalists (liberals) would prefer that we all live in caves. Using petroleum for our energy makes sense and since the so-called environmentalist reject the safest cleanest energy (nuclear) we are stuck with dependency on oil. I wonder what they think of lighting our caves with lamps using oil from whale blubber?

"Do modern day environmentalists ever talk about the root cause of environmental degradation anymore? Human population Growth and Consumption???" These same people claim that man causes global warming and are destroying the earth. The believe man is evil and yet they forget they are one of the problem they complain about.

Can someone tell me why oil isn't "Green"? It comes from the earth, it's decayed dinosaurs or basically fertilizer. But I guess we wouldn't want to spill it on the ground it came from right Greenies? lol

The picture speaks volumes to the lack of intellect in today's environmentalists.

The woman in the picture claims "multiple chemical sensitivity". In other words, she is against everything man-made. She probably supports "green" energy that requires massive use of lead batteries and power plants to charge those batteries.
