As other big banks dazzle, U.S. Bank continues to plow forward. CEO Davis tried to sound optimistic nonetheless.

Recent story about U.S. Bank mortgage loan business. Call was placed to U.S. Bank to inquire about a 30 year fixed conventional mortgage and it took two full business days for U.S. Bank to respond.

This bank will never "dazzle". What they will do is not take the foolish risks that many of their brethren often do. The performed will through the crisis and they have a rather simple business model. I'd say safety, reliability and slow, even growth over years trumps "dazzle" over a couple of quarters any day.
