Mayor Elizabeth Kautz would be the first Minnesotan to head the group. She lists infrastructure as the most important issue facing cities, followed by funding.

This prove that the U.S. Conference of Mayors has no competency. This mayor has done nothing but push through boondoggle projects of poor design and implementation

Hopefully this new title puts pressure on her to actually do some things right in Burnsville instead of wasting millions of our tax dollars on "Heart Of The City" projects that are going no where and have no community backing. Maybe she should move to Miami where the conference was held and screw up their town for a few years

I live in Apple Valley. I just bought a house there. I was looking in Burnsville first, but the crime and slime was way too much to handle. It is the slum of the South metro. Good job mayor. Congratulations on accomplishing 0.

Mrs Kautz is a GREAT Mayor of Burnsville. The Heart of the City is a lovely area now. It brought some 'newness' and charm to Burnsville. I wander the area alot and look forward to its completion.

When a small town mayor lands a position such as this it is quite an honor. This post has been held by Mayors of cities significantly larger than Burnsville. This is an honor for Mayor Kautz, Burnsville, and Minnesota.

Stay tuned to the upcoming elections to really see how well-liked this Mayor is. She will lose in a landslide. Empty condos, boondoggle Performing Arts Center, unoccupied business space in the Heart of the City... you people who support the ramrod policies of Mayor Kautz - don't you have eyes?

The heart of the city makes no sense! Jensen's is great, but try parking in the ramp, taking the elevator down and then walking back up....??? No good parking for any of the stores! Why wasn't TCF, Wells Fargo and the strip mall with Caribou in it torn down so their could be parking in the back like in Maple Grove, now there is a success story. Who is really going to perform at the performing arts center? Don't you think if we really need to use a space like that we could use the Mraz Center at BHS, plus the parking ramp at the performing arts center what a debacle, need I say more...??

What a honor for both our Mayor, Eliabeth Kautz, and our fine City to have been recognized by the leaders of our Nation's Cities large and small. These key people recognize the energy and effort that she continually contributes toward sound financial mnagement; redevelopment and revitalization of our City; Reducing serious crime by 30% since 1995; and for actively promoting environmental awareness in conservation and protection of our natural resources, including water quality and wetlands management. Burnsville is Better....let's keep it that way by VOTING for Mayor Kautz this fall.
