The $190 million figure the Gophers AD cited seems daunting, but he is confident the money is attainable.

Norwood Teague's plan "would make the school’s athletic facilities go from among the worst in the Big Ten to the best". I was confused about this statement. I went to the UofM website and here is what they say about the facilities: Aquatic Center 'one of the premier aquatic facilities in the nation'; TCF Stadium 'often referred to as the finest facility in college football'; Mariucci Arena 'amazing and breathtaking', Siebert Field 'superb'; Bierman Building 'completely remodeled'. And Teague claims that the UofM is the "worst" in regards to athletic facilities and wants to spend $200 million to correct this embarrassment??

Teague states; “With football, being back on campus helps a lot now. I don’t know, I think the Metrodome hurt, but I don’t know how much"...I can answer that one for you Norwood, it hurt $303,000,000.

Playing in the Metrodome buried an already weak program out of sight. Night games, in my opinion, should be a novelty, not a major part of your schedule, unless you're LSU and win most of the time. Gophers night games went unnoticed in Sunday sports sections because the scores weren't available when they went to press. How can you recruit with a situation like that when you're struggling to win even 6 games? What good player wants to go to a school no one pays any attention to? I never liked the Dome and it hurt Gopher football more than we'll ever know. My hat's off to Teague for dreaming big. This coming season is big because big progress needs to show. Wisconsin stunk prior to Alvarez and his first two years, but in the third year the Badgers went to the Rose Bowl. Kill has to win the lion's share of games this year, and win a decent bowl game. If that doesn't happen I don't see much hope for Gopher football in the near future and that's a shame.

I can't help laughing ever time an article runs on the UofM Athletic program. From Teague talking about paying Coach Kill more $$ even though he can't match Brewster's conf win totals for 1 season. Sign beer contracts, in which you "LOSE" Money! UofM executives changing their stories publically to cover up their elementry budgeting skills. It's one messy joke. Need more examples?

“With football, being back on campus helps a lot now." Really, in what way ? Obviously, we're not talking about the winning which was promised to the taxpayer. By the way, Sid, not everything has to be first class/top dollar.....

Bunch of negative people here. Probably the same people that complained about Joel Maturi. Go Woody!

I have read eight different news stories on the Norwood Teague's $190 million UofM sports facility fundraising plan. Not one of these news stories outlined Norwood's plan in regards to how much money he will raise by any particular date. I want to know how to measure the incremental success of this bold fundraising plan. Does anyone ('hazzzee' or 'oscarbaum') have the details of this plan? Or should we just hand 'Woody' a trophy for talking about succeeding, like we have done for Jerry Kill? (I know in pee-wee sports they don't keep score and everyone gets a trophy)

Kinnick: incorrect answer. Although the writing was on the wall, Tubby was not fired from Kentucky. Minnesota yes. Kentucky no.
