Beyonce holds moment of silence for Trayvon Martin during concert; Young Jeezy releases song

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Beyonce called in a concert for a moment of silence for Trayvon Martin, rapper Young Jeezy released a song in Martin's memory and Russell Simmons called for peace after George Zimmerman was acquitted by a Florida jury in the death of the teenager.

I applaud Simmons' call for peace. Mature, wise response to the verdict. Yes, prayers for Trayvon. A young man killed too soon. A victim? The jury says not of Zimmerman. Maybe his family, friends, community?

Hmm..I wonder if any of these so called superstars will offer a moment of silence for the 2year old kid shot in his stroller by a 16 year old punk in Atlanta because the kid's mother didn't have any money to give the robber. And where oh where has the media been concerning that story? Oh, I get it, the victim and his mother were white and the robber was black so it doesn't fit the media narrative that they like to push. Where was the constant coverage for that story as compared to the Zimmerman/Martin case? The double standard is appalling when it comes to crimes and the attention given to them in this country.
