Twins still searching for an identity at the All-Star break

  • Article by: PHIL MILLER , Star Tribune

Headed for their third consecutive season of 95-plus losses, these nondescript Twins bear little resemblance to successful teams of not so long ago.

Who are the 2013 Minnesota Twins? They're stinkers! They have a lame duck manager(hopefully), and a GM that has always cared more about trimming money from the payroll for ownership than fielding a winning team. They're a team that is stale and has been for quite some time now. They are a team in desperate need of new blood, both in the front office and in the coaching staff. They are a team that needs a change in their philosophy! They are a team that needs pitching and a team that needs to figure out a way not to waste any more of Joe Mauers prime. That is your Minnesota Twins!

yet another article that panders to "the twins philosophy" thanks for the waste of a couple minutes of my life having read it... at least I wont waste any more following this ship of fools

If I remember we were told, get this Stadium built and we will have more revenue to compete with other teams. I didn't know the other team they were talking about was the St Paul Saints. I hope the best for my Twins, but it is very painful to watch right now.

The worse part is they're not fun to watch or entertaining. It's a dull club. Being unable or unwilling to lure free agent pitching is irritating - this system doesn't develop pitching - but if the team was fun to watch people who care might be able to tolerate the losing. Mostly, of course, people who attend games don't care. It's a young crowd never seen without a lite beer in their paws. Having roving cameramen to get the kids on the big board between innings was someone's stroke of genius.

Pohlads are liars. They promised payroll that would be competitive with other teams once a new stadium was built. THE PAYROLL IS LAST IN THE DIVISION. Case closed...Pohlads are liars.

Here's an identity: the Pohlads sell the Twins to an investment group from the Phillipines. Then they can call them The Manila Folders.

Congrats to Matt Garza who goes to 6-1 tonight in a win against St Louis.

At This Point, They're No Better than a AAA Ball Club and That's being Kind...With No Talent In The Pipeline....

I'm going with Carp because we're bottom feeders and garbage collectors. :)

I expect to never see another post from stanbob. After all, he "wont waste any more ( time) following this ship of fools." "No talent in the Pipeline" you say gofurnutt? Really? Have you paid attention?
