Heavy rain floods streets, knocks out power to parts of Twin Cities area

Up to 4 inches of rain fell in the metro area; Rice County, to the south, got 8. Streets were flooded and power was out.

If you take a walk around Richfield Lake now better bring your waders. Flooded in at least four intervals. A lot of dead earthworms and waste from gorged birds on the asphalt footpath. Ducks everywhere.

Owatonnabill recalls the same thing happening in '75 (or maybe '76?) in Bemidji, MN. Huge rain. Roads out. Herds of fish spotted cruising down Highway 2. 'Course, back then it was all the fault of those durned Soviets who, as everybody knew, was tinkering with the weather so as to cause us Americans grief and discontent. Global Warming, of course, hadn't been invented yet.
