Sounds mostly pretty reasonable.

From the article: "[Because] the rate of complications for abortion rises in the second trimester, banning the procedure at this point keeps women safe." Reasonable? Remember, Snippet, giving birth is still riskier than having an abortion at 18 or 20 weeks.

Killing people is risky business, but it is big business. Anyhoo, according to Dr. Guttmacher himself, there are no medical reasons to have an abortion. In other words, there is no such thing as an abortion "to save the life of a mother." It is strictly a lifestyle choice and, of course, murder as well.

TAKE TWO... From the article: "But if you oppose abortion from conception, [first trimester abortions] are a threat." Reasonable, Snippet?

TAKE TWO... From the article: "[T]he common goal [of targeted regulations of abortion providers] is to make it prohibitively expensive, or simply impossible, for providers to operate." Reasonable, Snippet?

okaybrucee, this is the second time I've seen you make that claim with regards to Dr. Guttmacher, yet after multiple searches I'm unable to find where Dr. Guttmacher or the organization he founded has made that claim. In fact I've found statistics by Dr. Guttmacher that while the percentage of abortions for health and safety reasons is low and suggests the primary purpose of abortions might be for birth control, there is in fact a small percentage of abortions that ARE actually performed to save the mothers life. Please provide proof of what you're claiming or I'll be forced to believe you're telling a deliberate falsehood.

You're all about forced birth and controlling women.

"there is no such thing as an abortion "to save the life of a mother."..............Tell this to a local man who's wife almost died because the attending physician in ER refused to abort her as she was bleeding out. You make blanket statements and they show extreme ignorance. Try researching the rare but critical cases of late-term abortion or shut your mouth. Here is the REAL story: "During my wife's first pregnancy, right around 20 weeks there was a rupture in the membrane and all the amniotic fluid drained. Painless; no particular cause. Hospital bed rest didn't mend the rupture. Eventually the doctors told us our child would grow to term, but would never develop lungs. Apparently the fetus develops lungs by breathing in and out the amniotic fluid. While we were trying to process this, she went into labor. They were able to stop the labor, but then she began to hemorrhage. At this point it was clear that the pregnancy had to be terminated and the child would have to die so my wife could live. The perinatologist on duty in the wee hours that day was anti-choice and, without ever having examined my wife nor spoken to us, decided we were asking for a late-term abortion which offended his conscience. So while my wife was bleeding out, the hospital phoned around frantically to get another perinatologist out of bed and in to the hospital to help my wife survive the natural termination of her pregnancy. Fortunately, they were able to do this in time. It took them hours, during which they were very evasive about why the on-duty doctor wouldn't come to help or even examine his patient. I tried to raise a stink about the behavior of the first perinatologist, but the hospital hushed up the matter and for all I know he's still on staff, playing God, knowing what's in the hearts of parents facing the deaths of their children, and deciding that a mother should die along with her child to satisfy his deity." Tell us again how there's no such thing as a late term abortion to save the life of the mother?
