Did you expect anything different?

birdpeepJul. 10, 1311:14 PM

I'm pretty sure the end is near. Reusse wouldn't have written about it without being tipped off.

19 strikeouts? But we battled our tails off.

marcus100254Jul. 10, 1311:26 PM

The Rays should be sending Hunter Wendelstadt out for a steak dinner (Murrays silver butter knife) for not ending the bottom of the 13th when he didn't call a strike on Scott who clearly went around on the pitch to him. The TB announcers even said that he should have been called out. This would have sent the game into the 14th...

Even for a 13-inning game, 19 strikeouts is pathetic. Hit the damn ball.

dlb1946Jul. 10, 1311:31 PM

19 Ks is an indication the Rays are not pitching to contact. Twins need to change their pitching philosophy.

@marcus100254. Even if Wendelstadt makes that call, the Twins would just find a different way to lose in the 14th, 15th or 16th inning. The team is just plain lousy. The only thing they are successful at is knowing how to lose.

wplettfanJul. 10, 1311:41 PM

Reusse knows of what he speaks.

gcrackerJul. 10, 1311:42 PM

Oh...and they are also quite good at leaving runners in scoring position. 1 for 9 tonight and three for 27 in the series. Talk about your clutch hitting.

elcerritoJul. 10, 1311:46 PM

"More hits than errors" Mr. Bremer said early in the road trip that all the Twins have to do is go .500 on the road trip and then they can begin to contend for the Central Division pennant in the second half of the season post All-Star break. Sure, no problem...they win the get away game against the Rays at noon EDT,and then sweep the Yankees in the Bronx just to go .500 on the trip. Right.
