Calif. corrections secretary says hunger strike will only harm inmates' cause, delay releases

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Inmates who are refusing meals to protest the state's solitary confinement program for gang leaders are harming their own cause, California's prison chief said Wednesday in his first comments on the subject.
