As the former spouse of a pathological gambler, I am deeply concerned about lowering the legal gambling age, since the legal drinking age in Minnesota is still 21. Oftentimes, teens don't make rational choices until they are more mature. Anyone who has lived through the nightmare of being married to someone who took up casino gambling, only to become a soulless compulsive gambler, knows the pain of watching someone self destruct and, oh, by the way, taking down the family finances with them. If you can, watch an old Rod Serling "Twilight Zone" program where the husband is followed from the casino floor by a mobile, walking, talking slot machine, kind of like the robot in "Lost in Space." Trust me, you will not get away with your money or your life. If my comments can help spare any innocent people the pain and suffering I went through trying to "save" a gambler from himself, it would help mitigate my feelings.

so now they will be checking liquor id's, gambling id's, if they are not old enough to legally drink, they shouldn't be old enough to gamble. It is going to be a nightmare and drive away the adult customers.

Correction: In comment no. 5, right after the sentence about the mobile, walking, talking slot machine, kind of like the robot in "Lost in Space," somehow the next sentence was eliminated. Since I think it is very important to the story, it reads "His wife looks on in horror in their hotel room as the slot machine consumes her husband." Trust me . . .
