DALLAS — Making a rare return to the political arena, former President George W. Bush urged Congress on Wednesday to reach a "positive resolution" on immigration reform, an issue that eluded him during his presidency and now confronts fellow Republicans in the aftermath of a 2012 election drubbing.

I'm suprised and thankful that George W. Bush is right on the issue of immigration. He stated "And I hope, during the debate, we keep a benevolent spirit in mind, and we understand the contributions immigrants make to our country." There needs to be a pathway for immigrants to citizenship, otherwise, it is still the same disfunctional laws we presently have in existence. In order to not have ANY illegal immigrants we would have to circle the US with a 20 foot fence, no tourist visas, no work visas, and live in a cocoon. How does that help our economy?

Then if we can't keep illegals out, and we're going to give them amnesty... why have any laws about immigration at all? In other words, why do we have legal immigration policies? Just let everyone in then. That shouldn't hurt our economy at all (sarcasm intended).

W always liked going out to cut brush and have press photo ops with his "legal" ranch hands.

We welcome legal immigrants always have. What good would immigration reform do when we don't enforce the immigration laws we already have? Enforce the law, no amnesty.

I hope, during the debate, we keep a benevolent spirit and keep the needs of US Citizens at the forefront! As a US Citizen I am tired of giving, giving and giving to the immigrant programs. How about we set it up so that the immigrants actually help the working class Americans instead of sucking us dry for education, healthcare, social services, foodstamps, public housing, legal services and incarceration costs?

When George Bush, the US Chamber of Commerce, Open Border Lobbyists, Union Leaders, Democrats and Special Interest Groups all push for an immigration bill you know that Working Class Americans are going to take it in the shorts and end up paying for the importation of all that cheap foreign labor.

The only way to save the Social Security ponzi scheme is to import enough immigrants (3-to-1) to support all the retired people in America. So over the next 20-years we are gonna have to import 900,000,000 cheap foreign workers....just forget about it and deport them all.

Watch out when Democrats praise President Bush. They don't like the guy so something is askew.

Solution: Vote out any Senator or Representative who supports amnesty instead of US workers and taxpayers. Imprison and heavily fine cheating employers who profit from hiring illegal aliens for good measure.
