Comebacks extinguished by bad baserunning or fat pitches by young players helped the Rays win.

If i wasn't still paying for the stadium, I wouldn't care any more. Some of you are concerned about keepimg Morneau? As bad as this team is? Seriously? There is NOTHING on this "team" worth saving. Right now they are basically an expansion team with two old has beens and a bunch of triple a cast offs. I really didn't think they would make a run at 100 losses, but whether it's 92 or 100 plus, they are the worst team in baseball, and will be until the Pohlads sell.

This is bordering on criminal how the Pohlad's are just sitting back and giggling about how much money they'll make when they decide to sell the team. They clearly have no interest in spending the money required to field a competitive MLB team this day in age. Shame on them. Shame.

If you have an idea about purchasing the team, feel free to make an offer or have your candidate call the Pohlads and see if they are interested in selling. These guys play international monopoly and have little interest in this team. If you recall, the Pohlad sons said before their father's death that they really didn't want to be involved in running a baseball team. This doesn't make these guys criminal. Give Mark Cuban a call and see if he'd buy the squad. The Pohlads likely will be willing sellers. As for the Twins, tonight's game is a symbol of what happens when you are struggling. As Jack Morris said over the weekend: You are only as good as your starting pitching. And the Twins pitching consistently gives up first inning runs, lots of HRs (especially against the East division where they play real baseball). Doumit hitting into the DP in the 1st when there were possibilities of a big inning summarized the season. Lost chances. And what was with Arcia being out at 2nd base and sliding into "centerfield" as was called by Bremer. Good for Hicks though that he had a 4 hit game. He's approaching the Mendoza line. I think he'll be OK in time. Hang in there Aaron!

Biggest problem this team has....THE POHLADS. I am sure their car dealerships are doing well enough so they could afford a bump in the payroll. But I guess when you are greedy.......

I'm a patient person and have never been one to rip Gardy. However, things need to change soon, and if the play on the field doesn't change, than the manager and/or coaches need to go. I was willing to look at 2011 as an aberration, due to all the injuries and based on the Twins' grack record over the previous eight years. I saw some signs of improvement as 2012 went on, and even as the 2013 season started. But it's going south. A different approach is needed.

2 and 8 on the road trip? 3 and7? The Twins are 1 and 3 right now with 3 more games in St. Pete and 3 at Yankee Stadium. How many losses this season? 93, 97, or 100+? What do you think?

jpweisserJul. 8, 1310:09 PM

don't go to games. The Pohlads have no interest in spending money on their product, why should we?

codger1016: So I take it that you believe that the Twins roster is as talented as Detroit's or Boston's or St. Louis'? There's no way that that is true at all. Now, if we had the Dodgers or Angels rosters and were 2 and 3 games under .500 respectively there would be reason for upset. But, with the roster that is filled with non major leaguers like the Twins roster is, the record isn't a surprise at all. In fact, the payroll is WAY too high for all of the non major league talent and the ensuing number of wins.

It is the fault of the scouting system that has doomed this team. The players that they have drafted over the last 10 years have been failures with a few exceptions. And bad trades!!! Still living on the trading of AJ as a good trade doesn't excuse the many bad ones. Ramos, Garza, to name a few. And how many pitchers leave and have more success than they had here? Lohse, Dickey, Garza, even Liriano this year. And look at Slowey this year.
