Good luck to you young man, I am not a hoops guy but followed your career because of Coach Jackson, who, I think, would have been a legendary coach no matter what sport he would have been in, he just has "it". I followed him no matter what club he was with. You are an example of the good and positive that can come from professional sports. North Minneapolis needs more men like you who can help create some positive outcomes...

I'm impressed but not surprised. This man has worked very hard for everything he has & has not forgotten where he came from.

Devean - what you are doing now is so much more important than anything anyone has ever done in the NBA. Three cheers for you, man, and carry on!

It's refreshing to see a pro player who makes good return to invest in his community in such a meaningful and tangible way. Thank you, Devean, for living by example and reaching back to move a community in need forward.

I too am impressed but not surprised. He was a sincere, humble guy at Augsburg. He was friendly with other students and visitors. And fame didnt change him.

What is lost in this article is the fact that northside residents do not work at jobs that are now taken by immigrants into our country, some now living as neighbors to lifelong northside residents. Why is this country proceeding with a system that allows immigration over "pushing" its own residents into jobs. Any one wish to comment on the real issue here or the term "pushing" above?

Another great sports article with a most positive outcome. Kudos to Mr. George, his family, support system, and to the Star Tribune recognizing such positive determination. Please keep us posted on how Devean's work is progressing. Thank you so much for insight into one celebrity's longterm goals. Margaret Johnson
