Hours after a tornado ripped through north Minneapolis in May 2011, contractors swarmed the area, looking to pick up repair jobs. So much for small businesses being the backbone of the country. Look at the bankruptcy rates (assets vs liabilities) and the fact that most small businesses go belly up within two years, then tell me how THEY are the job creators.

martin64 - These types of things are not exclusive to "small businesses". Big business does similar things, they just have lawyers on staff and politicians (code makers and inspectors) in their pockets.

These are fraudulent acts. They need to be charged with fraud and put on trial and put away in jail. Obviously, the threat of enforcement is so weak they continue to defraud the unsuspecting homeowner. Put some teeth into enforcement and put these CROOKS away.

martin54, I couldn't agree more. These and all small businesses are subsidized big time by our government and all they do is pocket the money for themselves and then file for bankruptcy in a few years. Yet we're suppose to give them big tax breaks so that they can stick it to us even harder. Yes big corporations are gulity too but at least they employ the majority of us and with decent wages.
